In short: I do not run my own servers that receive your personal data and I create no user accounts. The web version uses Google Firebase for two purposes: anonymous gameplay analytics (Google Analytics 4) and an optional public leaderboard (Firebase Firestore) where you can voluntarily submit a display name and score. Everything else — your high score, settings, card-collection progress, and a browser identifier used to highlight your leaderboard entries — is stored only in your browser. The mobile apps (iOS and Android) store your progress locally and use the same anonymous gameplay analytics (Google Analytics 4 via Firebase), Google AdMob ads (banner, occasional full-screen interstitial, and optional rewarded video), and, on iOS, Apple Game Center (optional leaderboards).
This Privacy Policy explains how Snek Snacks (the “Game,” “I,” “me,” or “my”) handles information. It covers Snek Snacks in all of its forms. Throughout this Policy I use these labels where a section applies only to a specific version:
I (the developer) maintain no database of users, offer no accounts or login, and do not directly store personal information that identifies you. The data flows that do exist are: (a) data stored locally on your device (Section 2); (b) anonymous analytics data processed by Google through Firebase (Section 3.1, web and mobile); (c) voluntary leaderboard submissions stored in Firebase Firestore (Section 3.2, web only); (d) voluntary support-form messages stored in Firebase Firestore (Section 3.3, web only); and (e) other data processed by third-party SDKs in the mobile apps (Section 4).
Both versions save a small amount of data on your own device to remember your progress and preferences. This data is never sent to me.

generated ID created the first time you visit, used to highlight your own leaderboard
entries across sessions. It contains no personal information.

You can clear this data at any time (see Section 6).
Both the web and mobile versions use Google Firebase, a platform operated by Google LLC, for anonymous gameplay analytics (Section 3.1). The WEB web version additionally uses Firebase Firestore for the optional public leaderboard (Section 3.2) and the support form (Section 3.3). Firebase is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. The Firebase products I use are:
Both the web and mobile versions use Google Analytics 4 (via Firebase) to understand how the game is played. This collects anonymous, aggregated events such as game start and game over (including your score, how the game ended, and your chosen board colors), each tagged with a platform label (“web” or “app”) so the two versions can be distinguished within a single combined property. MOBILE The mobile apps additionally log anonymous ad events — that an ad was shown and, if you choose to watch a rewarded video, the in-game reward you earned. No name, email address, or account is involved. Google may also automatically collect standard technical data such as your approximate country/region, device type, and — on mobile — app-instance and device identifiers, as described in the Google Privacy Policy.
This data is processed by Google under the Google Analytics data practices. WEB You can opt out of Google Analytics measurement across websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. MOBILE On mobile, analytics collection is anonymous and the app declares no cross-app tracking; you can further limit ad-related identifiers using the device advertising controls described in Section 4.1.
If you finish a game with a score that qualifies for the top 30, you may optionally enter a display name (up to 24 characters) to appear on the public leaderboard. Submitting is entirely voluntary; you can skip the prompt and the game continues normally. When you submit, the following information is stored in Firebase Firestore and is publicly visible to all players:
clientId) described in Section 2 — this
is not linked to any personal identity and is used only to highlight your own entries in
the leaderboard display.
Important: Leaderboard entries cannot be deleted by players through the game interface (the Firestore security rules prohibit player-initiated deletions). If you wish to have a leaderboard entry removed, contact me at jaykaysm@gmail.com and I will delete it manually. I recommend using a pseudonym or game tag rather than your real name.
Firebase Firestore data is stored on Google’s infrastructure and governed by the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.
WEB If you choose to use the contact form on my Support page, the information you submit is stored in Firebase Firestore so I can read and respond to it. This is entirely voluntary — you can email me directly instead. I store:
Unlike the leaderboard, support messages are private — they are not publicly visible and the security rules block all reads, so only I can see them via the Firebase console. I use this data only to handle your inquiry and do not use it for advertising or sell it. To request deletion of a message you sent, email me at jaykaysm@gmail.com. Please don’t include sensitive personal information in the form.
MOBILE The mobile apps include the third-party services below, provided by Google and Apple. Those companies act as independent controllers of any data they process, under their own privacy policies.
The mobile apps show advertisements served by Google AdMob in three formats: a small banner; an occasional full-screen interstitial shown between games; and an optional rewarded video that you may choose to watch in exchange for an in-game bonus (such as continuing a run or an extra card draw). To serve and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process information such as your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, general device and app information, approximate location derived from IP address, and ad-interaction data. This processing is governed by Google, including the Google Privacy Policy and “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.”
You can also manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
On iOS, the app offers optional high-score leaderboards through Apple Game Center. If you are signed in to Game Center and use the leaderboard, your high score and your Game Center player identity are processed by Apple to display rankings. This is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy. If you do not sign in to Game Center, no score is submitted. I do not receive your Game Center identity.
WEB The web version uses no cookies. The local-storage data described in Section 2 is used solely for game functionality and leaderboard highlighting. Firebase Analytics (Section 3.1) uses Google’s measurement infrastructure; you can opt out via the Google Analytics browser add-on linked in Section 3.1.
MOBILE The mobile apps use no cookies. Anonymous analytics are described in Section 3.1, and device identifiers used for advertising are described in Section 4.1.
Neither version builds a personal profile of you beyond what is described above.
Residents of the United States may have rights under state privacy laws — such as the CCPA/CPRA (California) and comparable laws in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states — including rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because I do not sell or share personal information, and because most data is stored only on your device, there is limited data for me to access, correct, or port on my end. To request deletion of a leaderboard entry, use the contact above. For advertising data in the mobile apps, use the controls in Section 4.1. If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction subject to the GDPR or equivalent laws, the same principles apply; for advertising and Game Center data in the mobile apps, Google and Apple act as independent controllers, and you may exercise rights directly with them.
I do not sell, rent, or share personal information. Leaderboard submissions (Section 3.2) are stored in Firebase and are publicly visible, as disclosed above. Analytics data (Section 3.1) is processed by Google as described. In the mobile apps, data is processed by Google and Apple as described in Section 4, each as an independent controller. For clarity under U.S. privacy laws, including the CCPA/CPRA: I do not “sell” or “share” personal information (as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA) and have not done so in the preceding twelve (12) months.
Snek Snacks is intended for a general audience, is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The web version’s leaderboard allows users to enter a display name; I encourage parents to supervise children and remind them not to enter real names or personal information as their leaderboard name. Because the mobile apps display third-party advertising, they are not designed as a “child-directed” service under COPPA. If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns, contact me (Section 11).
Locally stored data is protected by your own device and browser security. Leaderboard data in Firebase Firestore is protected by Google’s security infrastructure and Firestore’s security rules, which prevent player-initiated modification or deletion. Data processed by Google and Apple in the mobile apps is protected under their respective security programs. No data stored by me is considered sensitive.
This Policy is provided primarily under United States law. Snek Snacks can be used worldwide. Firebase (Google) may process data in the United States and other countries. Where the mobile apps process data through Google or Apple, those companies act as independent controllers under their own policies.
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and your continued use of the Game after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, or to request deletion of a leaderboard entry, contact me at jaykaysm@gmail.com.
